The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Mariano Marcos State University is a four-year degree program. It is a program that embodies the science and technology of design, development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of software and hardware components in modern computing systems and computer-controlled equipment.
The 2018 curriculum was in accordance with the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 90, s. 2017 and was contents noted by the Commission on Higher Education – Region 1 (CHED-RO1) on July 17, 2018. It contains 181 units with 65 subjects comprising the following course classification: technical courses (128 units), which include: mathematics (15 units), natural/physical sciences (8 units), basic engineering sciences (7 units), allied courses (14 units), and professional courses (75 units); and non-technical courses (53 units) which include: general education courses (24 units), mandated courses (15 units), physical education (8 units), national service training program (6 units).
The BS Computer Engineering program also offers On-the-Job Training (OJT) program that provides students the opportunity to combine an excellent education with career-related “hands-on” experience. The program also includes Seminar and Filedtrips that lets the students have an actual visit to the different industries in the Philippines. Finally, the program caters to Undergraduate Thesis I & II, where students conduct research studies and system (hardware & software) development in the computer engineering field to enhance their writing and technical skills.
